ReplyDeleteWhen I was a little girl we used to go to my village on the weekends, and spend it there at my grandmother’s house. Me my sisters, cousins, uncles, aunts and the rest of my family, we had great memories there, each every corner of that house I have a memory.
I, my sisters and cousins used to sleep all in one room because we used to get scared because my grandmother’s house was very close to the graveyard, we used to throw socks bouncing ball underwear’s pillows everything we see we just throw them at each other. I used to wake up hearing the voice of my grandma singing while she is preparing breakfast, so I just jump out of my bed and run to the kitchen and give her a big hug I used to be her favorite granddaughter, because when my oldest sister was getting married my mom left me with her for two months and left to America. My favorite cousin was Mahdi he used to wake me up at 7 AM, and sometimes if I don’t wake up he used to pull me by my feet to the balcony so we would play tag. When it was winter time we would go out and play with the snow, I used to teach my mom how to play, so I grabbed her hand and threw hehe and it hit my dad on the back of his head, we also used to pull pranks at an old n that used to live next to us he used to hate us so every time he caught us we just run away so we get home my grandmother makes us stand against the wall I still remember her how she held that big wooden spoon and asking us :kids do you want to tell your grandmother what you guys did today? So we all just run to our room and lock the door.
Now it’s summer time, and that’s when the real fun begins, me my cousins jawad Mahdi Hussein somaya Hassan and some other kids across the street used to race to the nearest liquor, me and somaya used to be the last ones to get there, we used to talk on our way there that’s why we were always the last ones, we also went to my grandfather’s garden and help him collect the fresh tomatoes ,the juicy peaches, sour apples and sweet figs my grandmother left after she died.
On Sunday when it’s for us to go back to our homes, we used to make barbeque my uncle Hassan used stand in front of the grill, and we ran around him in circles, my grandmother and women used to work in the kitchen the boys fix the table and the babies jobs was just sitting there and watching us having fun.
I think I have so much fun memories that I might lose my memory hehe, memories are very important, “Nothing is ever really lost to us as long as we remember it”
